New Chicks

These are a couple of chicks my friend brought to me after saving them at a local park. Someone was trying to release them into the wild. (a.k.a. feed the raccoons) I think they may be brown leghorns, one rooster and one pullet but I'm not sure yet. Please feel free to leave a comment if you have an idea what they may be.

Poor things! At least they are safe now, but will whoever did it do it again?! They could be leghorns or some heavy breed. If they are leghorns they will have white ear lobs as leghorns lay white eggs. (Chickens that lay brown eggs have red ear lobs and the green egg laying Americaunas have bueish ear lobs.)

Wow! I didn't know that, thanks. I will have to inspect them a bit closer tomorrow. :)
